Inviting locals and visitors alike to their space, Butterfly World in Coconut Creek writes that “acres and acres of flying delights await you.” Since 1988, Butterfly World has showcased tens of thousands of butterflies, tropical birds, flora, and other natural wonders. Despite passing through the years, this is one area destination that’s not just held its own, but improved with age. 

At the park, you’ll encounter thousands of butterflies and other insects, like spiders and scorpions—one Yelp reviewer refers to their “pretty cool and creepy insect museum.” Contrary to this spot’s name, though, many visitors seem to seek out Butterfly World for its birds, in particular. With two aviaries in addition to the butterflies’, their critters include tropical birds and an interactive lorikeet encounter. Hummingbirds and macaws are particular favorites, while a stop in the giftshop can commemorate your visit and your new feathered friends. 

Joined by unique flowers (you even have the opportunity to purchase a plant of your own!), Butterfly World’s offerings go beyond their titular butterflies. All together, it creates the nature-filled outdoor experience that’s lasted through the past several decades.
