“If you’ve got a kid and you want to make some core childhood memories, let them run around here,” writes Yelp reviewer Michele R. of Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Meanwhile, Malika S. describes it as a “great place to enjoy serenity and to be one with Nature.” Really, it’s an ideal spot for visitors of any age.
If you’re not familiar with Gumbo Limbo, you’ve got a lot to look forward to. Offering a “coastal and marine experience unlike any other,” Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is a collaborative effort between Boca Raton, Florida Atlantic University, Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District, and the Friends of Gumbo Limbo, a group that offers the Nature Center an assortment of resources.
While the Nature Center itself has been closed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s still plenty to enjoy. This month, the Shifting Tides Virtual Auction works to support the organization. And, with the Florida Winter Clearance Sale, you can work to save the turtles while showing off a discounted hoodie or tee. You can even adopt a sea turtle (symbolically, of course)!
