Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: A Dose of Zen Near Aura Boca

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens have reopened after the pandemic and is a perfect piece of paradise to escape to while you continue to social distance. The sprawling grounds feature six sections of exhibit gardens, each of which is inspired by significant gardens in Japan. There’s plenty of space to meander through garden paths, see distinct bonsai collections, take in the beauty of the pond, and much more. The Museum is open as well, and hosts exhibits in Japanese art and artifacts in both permanent and rotating gallery spaces. Your best bet is to download the free audio tour right to your smartphone so that you don’t miss a bit of the grounds.

Perhaps the highlight of your visit will be a delicious meal at the open air eatery, Cornell Café. There you can enjoy a Pan-Asian inspired menu from the terrace overlooking the gardens. The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is $15 for adults.
